Dessyré of Hope was established in 2023 to address gaps in mentoring, life skills development, and financial education for youth and young adults in Jasper County. The organization was created in response to limited access to coordinated support services for young people affected by poverty, foster care involvement, Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs), and other factors that increase the risk of poor educational and life outcomes. By providing prevention-focused, trauma-informed support, the organization seeks to interrupt cycles of adversity and create opportunities for long-term individual, family, and community well-being.
Dessyré of Hope (DOH) is a nonprofit organization based in Ridgeland, South Carolina, serving youth and young adults ages 12–25 throughout Jasper County. Through mentoring, youth development programming, financial education, and supportive services, the organization promotes academic success, personal responsibility, and long-term stability in partnership with schools, families, and community agencies. The organization's long-term goal is to equip participants with the knowledge, skills, support, and confidence needed to achieve self-sufficiency, strengthen family outcomes, and contribute to positive generational change.
